1. Introduction

This policy explains how Randomsoundbuttons (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use this website (the “site”). The site lets you play sound buttons and save a like.

We wrote this in plain language on purpose. If a section is unclear, email us and we will explain it.

2. Who we are

Randomsoundbuttons is an independent sound-button site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any film, game, song, meme, or other soundboard.

The buttons play original effects made for this site. Names and recordings that belong to other people stay theirs. A label such as “coin” or “laser” describes the effect. It is not a claim on someone else’s work.

3. Definitions

• Site means this website and the sound pages on it.
• You means the person using the site.
• Personal data means information that identifies you, or could identify you when combined with other information.
• Local storage means a small store inside your browser, on your device. It is not sent to us when you like a sound or change a setting.
• Cookie means a small file a site or service can place on your device.

4. Information we collect

4.1 What stays on your device

Likes are saved in this browser. We do not receive them, and they are not shared with other people.

4.2 What you send us

If you email us, or use the contact form (which opens an email), we receive the address you write from and whatever you put in the message. That can include your name if you type it.

4.3 Cookies

The site itself does not set tracking cookies. Google Analytics may set cookies to measure visits. You can block cookies in your browser. Likes use local storage, not cookies. Clearing site data for this site removes them.

4.4 Logs

The host that delivers the site may keep ordinary connection logs, such as an IP address, browser type, and the page requested, in order to serve and protect the site. We do not use those logs to build a profile of you.

Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics. That count does not use a tracking cookie and is not tied to your name.

5. How we use information

• To count page views
• To measure visits with Google Analytics
• To answer a message you send
• To review a privacy or copyright request
• To keep the site available and fix problems
• To meet a legal duty, if one applies

We do not sell personal information.

6. Legal basis

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or somewhere with a similar rule, we rely on these bases:

• You asked us to respond, when you email us
• Our legitimate interest in running and protecting the site, where that interest is not overridden by your rights
• A legal obligation, when the law requires us to keep or share something

Preferences stored only in your browser are not processed by us.

7. How long we keep it

We keep emails for as long as we need to handle the conversation and any follow-up, then delete them, unless we have to keep a message for a legal claim.

Likes and sound settings stay on your device until you clear them. We cannot delete those for you, because they never reach us.

8. Where information goes

Email you send may be stored by an email provider, which can be outside your country. Protection there may differ from the rules where you live. We use that email only to correspond with you.

9. When we share information

• With a provider that handles email for us, only so we can read and reply
• If the law, a court, or a public authority requires it
• If we believe it is necessary to protect someone’s safety, or to respond to abuse of the site
• If the project is transferred to someone else, we will keep this policy in force or tell you about a new one before your message is handled under different terms

10. Security

We take reasonable care with messages we receive. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure. A normal email is not a private vault. Don’t send passwords or payment details.

11. Children

The site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe a child has emailed us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold, limit or object to certain uses, and lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. We honor access and deletion requests regardless of where you live, unless the law requires us to keep the information.

To remove likes and sound settings, clear this site’s data in your browser. To ask about an email you sent, write to Hello@randomsoundbuttons.com. We reply within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm that you sent that email.

13. Changes

We update this page when the policy changes. The date at the top changes with it. Please check it from time to time. The new text applies from the day it is posted.
